Our client, a medical device industry, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Disposables R&D, Sustaining to join their team. As a Principal Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to take initiative, and excellent communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Principal Engineer - Disposables R&D, Sustaining

Location: Plymouth, MN (HYBRID - 3 days a week onsite)

What's the Job?

  • Schedule, budget, and lead engineering projects with minimal guidance.
  • Serve as the technical expert for design change programs including new products and materials.
  • Identify, investigate, and solve complex engineering problems using risk-based approaches.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of design history files.
  • Coordinate and communicate the efforts of R&D in collaboration with global stakeholders.

What's Needed?

  • Advanced knowledge of plastics materials and processing techniques.
  • Understanding of FDA Design Controls and ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge of CAD design and PDM enterprise software.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and execute mitigations.
  • Ability to train and coach others based on technical expertise.
