Our client, operates in the automotive and transportation industry, specifically in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles is seeking a Lead Technical Support Engineer to join their team.

 Job Title: Lead Technical Support Engineer

Location: Greensboro, NC

Summary of the Position: The Lead Technical Support Engineer is a specialist role focused on providing advanced technical assistance to dealers and Volvo Group stakeholders to resolve complex product issues and challenges related to workshop tools. This role also includes coaching junior staff, managing end-to-end technical support processes, and occasionally delivering onsite training to customer support teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide specialized technical support and problem-solving assistance for issues reported by the market. 

  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality-related product concerns and define appropriate containment and corrective actions. 

  • Follow up on the effectiveness of implemented solutions to ensure long-term resolution. 

  • Visit customers and markets to offer hands-on support in response to technical problems. 

  • Utilize data acquisition and analysis tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. 

  • Manage large-scale technical support projects or complete processes with minimal oversight. 

  • Coach, delegate, and review the work of lower-level professionals. 

  • Handle complex and challenging technical problems independently. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Data acquisition and analysis tools for diagnosing truck-related issues. 

  • Design and development of Class 8 Volvo and Mack truck powertrain, chassis, and electrical/electronic systems. 

  • Volvo and Mack truck troubleshooting, repair procedures, and North American workshop service practices.
