Our client, a leader in telecommunications, is seeking a GIS Engineer to join their team. As a GIS Engineer, you will be part of the Business Engineering Department supporting the GIS Solutions Group. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: GIS Engineer
Location: Chester, New York
Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000
What's the Job?
- Monitor daily performance of our SPATIAL environment and analyze performance issues related to network connections and databases.
- Design and implement GIS-based tools for telecommunications projects, focusing on fiber-to-the-home (FTTX) systems.
- Collaborate on grant-funded planning and design projects aimed at expanding FTTH networks to underserved areas.
- Manage and maintain GIS databases, ensuring accurate representation of our network and compliance with grant reporting requirements.
- Provide technical support for spatial analysis needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams for efficient project execution.

What's Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of geospatial concepts and relational databases.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and related GIS/engineering tools.
- Experience with Python and SQL for analysis and tool development.
