Job Title: Construction Project Engineer 5
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay Rate Range: $65/hr. – $75/hr.
Location: Fully Remote
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer 5 to support high-impact construction and engineering projects in the data center industry. This role is responsible for applying advanced engineering theory and principles to problems involving industrial layouts, construction builds, and production processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management, contracts administration, and infrastructure design, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and fiber systems.

- Construction Project Management Expertise (10+ years) :Proven experience overseeing complex construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, contracts administration, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Data Center Infrastructure Knowledge: In-depth understanding of data center design and construction, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fiber optics, and architectural systems.
- Technical Communication & Documentation: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints, and to produce clear technical reports, workflows, and visual documentation for diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze time, motion, and methods involved in construction and maintenance operations to establish standard rates and improve efficiency.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.
- Review logs, specification sheets, and records to verify adherence to quality assurance protocols.
- Assist in project planning and work assignments based on workforce performance, equipment capacity, and production schedules.
- Create visual documentation such as charts, diagrams, and floor layouts to illustrate workflows and resource allocation.
- Observe job site operations to validate proper equipment use and maintenance in line with QA standards.
- Measure operational efficiency and fatigue rates using timing devices and industry methodologies.
- Evaluate performance data, identify deviations, and generate comprehensive reports for leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, contract administration, and project engineering.
- Deep understanding of data center builds, design requirements, and infrastructure components.
- Knowledge of fiber, architectural layouts, electrical systems, mechanical design, and HVAC standards.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Proficient in creating engineering drawings, sketches, and technical reports.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and CAD files.
- Experienced in engineering software and applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools).
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
