Description

We are looking for an Engineering leader that can excel in a non-traditional environment, working with the latest of the Cloud ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Software Development, we are looking for a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead the development and operations of our Core Bureau Products.

What you'll do:

You will lead engineering teams building product capabilities and solutions for our clients using Experian bureau data and other 3rd party data. Your team will work on important projects to accelerate the development, training, testing and deployment of solutions for clients.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership
    • Cultivate engineering talent through coaching, career development and performance management
    • You'll manage hiring, performance management, and career development for your team
    • Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of new and enhancements to products
    • Managing critical applications with strict SLA
  • Technical Strategy
    • Collaborate with Architects and Principal Engineers to define the requirements and needs of the product
    • Ensure the team follows software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and documentation
    • Guide the use of latest technologies that support real-time processing and performance optimization
  • Collaboration
    • Work with Product, Architecture and Data Governance teams to deliver secure, compliant and high quality products
    • Partner with Program Management to practice agile methodologies
  • Delivery & Execution
    • Manage the delivery lifecycle of major platform plans
    • Track important performance metrics (availability, latency, throughput) and ensure continuous improvement
    • Manage the delivery of insightful dashboards and data visualizations
    • Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in engineering leadership roles
  • You should have experience managing real-time, high-throughput applications in production environments
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS), and modern backend stacks (e.g., Scala, Java, C, or Python)
  • Experience with API gateways, load balancing, caching, and observability tools (Kibana, Grafana, Datadog, and Prometheus)
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture, message queues (Kafka) and stream processing frameworks
  • Knowledge of GenAI, DevOps with Docker Knowledge: Docker and Kubernetes
  • You would be working from Hyderabad (2 days a week) as part of Hybrid work mode.
