  1. Unix/Linux Administration:

    • Maintain Unix/Linux servers, with a focus on SUSE, ensuring their availability, performance, and security.
      • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades.
      • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
      • Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions.
      • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

    2. Automation with Ansible:

    • Develop Ansible playbooks for automating routine tasks and configurations.
      • Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
      • Provide guidance and training to team members on Ansible best practices.

3. Vulnerability and Patch Management:

  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
    • Manage the patching process to ensure all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches.
    • Work closely with the security team to address any identified vulnerabilities promptly.
    • Maintain documentation of vulnerability and patch management activities.

4. People Management:

  • Lead a team of Unix engineers, providing support for their professional development.
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

5. Project Management:

  • Participate in infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
    • Coordinate with other IT teams and partners to ensure successful project execution.
    • Develop project documentation, including plans, schedules, and status reports.

6. Audits and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
    • Prepare for and participate in external audits.
    • Implement corrective actions based on audit findings to improve processes and security.

7. Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Unix/Linux administration and automation.
    • Identify process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Experience and Skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in Unix/Linux administration, with a focus on SUSE.
  • Experience with automation tools, Ansible.
  • Technical expertise in Unix/Linux administration, particularly RedHat & SUSE
  • Experience in vulnerability and patch management.
  • Experience in people management and team leadership.
