Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dark Web Data Analyst to join our dynamic team reporting into the Dark Web Supervisor.

As a Dark Web Data Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to collect and format personally identifiable information (PII) from various sources on the dark web. Your expertise in regular expressions and data formatting will be essential in extracting valuable insights and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of collected data.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive research and monitor the dark web to identify and collect PII from various targets.
  • Employ advanced techniques, including regular expressions, to efficiently extract relevant data from unstructured sources.
  • Format and organize large volumes of data for analysis, ensuring consistency and adherence to data quality standards.
  • Conduct data cleansing and validation to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies in collected datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and contribute to the development of data collection strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies related to data analysis and dark web intelligence.


Qualifications

  • Experience regarding the dark web ecosystem and / or time spent working in cybersecurity would be preferable but can also be taught over time.
  • Data Parsing & Formatting Skills: Experience in normalising, validating and formatting large volumes of both structured & unstructured data.
  • Familiarity with Data Storage Formats: Experience working with CSV, JSON, XML & SQL databases, which are typical data types that PII will be extracted from.
  • Experience with Dark Web Ecosystem: Familiarity with navigating and extracting data from dark web marketplaces, forums & TOR domains.
  • Proficiency in Regular Expressions (Regex): Ability to design and apply regex patterns for the purpose of identifying and extracting PII (e.g. Email Addresses, Phone Numbers, Login Credentials, etc).
  • Attention to Detail: A strong focus on data accuracy, completeness and consistency.
