About the Client  

The leading provider of vehicle lifecycle solutions, with headquarters in Chicago, enables the companies that build, insure, and replace vehicles to power the next generation of transportation. What You’ll Do

• Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, and reliability throughout the software delivery lifecycle
• Configure and maintain monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)
• Create and update runbooks/playbooks; ensure key system data is accessible via dashboards
• Resolve NOC escalations and implement automation to prevent incident repetition
• Automate manual tasks and deployment processes
• Collaborate with developers and QA to meet non-functional requirements (performance, security, availability)
• Respond to high-severity incidents and support SLAs/SLOs
• Conduct blameless postmortems to drive continuous improvement
• Participate in engineering stand-ups and design discussions
• Coach teammates on SRE best practices
• Align with team schedules (daily meetings and reviews between 3–7 PM CET)

What You Bring

• Experience building, deploying, and troubleshooting Java web applications
• Solid understanding of the full software delivery lifecycle
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud monitoring (preferably AWS CloudWatch or equivalents)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Dynatrace, or APPD
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub)
• Strong skills in observability for large-scale enterprise apps and microservices
• Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-platform issues across OS, networking, SQL databases, and cloud environments
• Proficiency in analyzing logs/metrics to identify and resolve incidents
• Ability to document solutions and establish SRE best practices for team use
