The Director of Product Management, Financial Education, is responsible for both product planning and product management for a product line that is aligned to EVERFI’s key business priorities. The Director is responsible for setting the product strategy for adult financial education, working with cross functional teams to manage products throughout the product life cycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and execution, and delivering impactful products and learner experiences that solve customer problems. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the product life cycle, from high-level strategy to individual features, to bring to market new products and courses in a timely, scalable and cost efficient manner.
  • Actively manage long term vision, innovation and development for adult financial education.  This includes close collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop the product strategy and meet customer needs.
  • Research emerging technologies, competitive market, and consumer trends to recommend new content and products.
  • Lead development teams through all aspects of the product's life cycle, including development of product vision, execution of roadmap, and delivery to end-users.
  • Conduct market and user feedback analysis, and use quantitative data to make informed product requirements recommendations and decisions.
  • Partner with Platform PM to define and plan new & enhanced functionalities and validate  that courseware requirements are compatible with platform architecture.
  • Understand customer needs, analyze proposed product requirements, assess sales and implementation potential, and as appropriate establish product market fit as well as production schedule.
  • Select and manage course contributors, vendors, technical editors and other course development consultants against budget. Negotiate and establish relationships with vendors as needed.
  • Manage backlog and roadmap of new functionalities and enhancements, taking into account business goals, user needs, and data analysis.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies and build launch plans in close collaboration with Product Marketing to position products to drive product demand.
  • Provide guidance, source data and direction to marketing for the development and presentation of marketing strategies and tactics that support overall product objectives and ensure alignment with course content. 
  • Introduce new products and courses to the organization and communicate the product and implementation information necessary to support new products.
  • Develop and manage course revision schedules to ensure course content is up to date and meets user expectations.
  • Make recommendations based on product launch feedback and outcomes to help define and refine product development processes.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology or finance; MBA preferred
  • 5 years of product management experience related to financial technologies or consumer financial education
  • Extensive experience gathering and transforming business requirements into a successful product strategy
  • Experience working with software development methodologies and languages, data architecture and platforms preferred
  • Experience in Agile software development, SCRUM preferred
  • Experience managing external vendors preferred
  • Experience managing full product lifecycle from customer problem definition, solution identification, and execution/launch
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • High attention to detail in language, usability and design
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner and to adjust to quickly changing priorities
  • Experience with customer relationship management system (Salesforce) and ticket management system (JIRA) preferred
