Product Engineer II - Indoor GIS

Redlands, CA

Overview

Do you have interest in helping shape the future for Indoor GIS? As a Product Engineer on the Indoor GIS team, you will help define how organizations transform their business using Indoors GIS for space management, workspace reservation, wayfinding, asset tracking, location sharing, and more. In this role you using your GIS background and expertise along with user interactions to define software features, test them, create user help for them, demonstrate and bring them to market.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Product Owners and Product Managers to establish software backlog needs, priorities, and define release themes
  • Author Scrum user stories that define new feature capabilities that guide the software development process
  • Demonstrate software capabilities at iteration and stakeholder review meetings, capturing feedback into product backlogs
  • Serve as point of contact to development team on acceptance criteria for features being developed
  • Contribute to user interface design for tools, features, and capabilities being developed in ArcGIS Pro
  • Author and execute test plans; build and manage testing dataset (N-path testing, acceptance testing, regression testing)
  • Create automated tests
  • Author user guide documentation
  • Serve as technical point of contact to practice team and solution engineers
  • Provide technical review of user guide documentation for accuracy, completeness, and usability

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in a related field (software development, GIS, IT, architecture/AEC)
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro; knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise, Online, Mobile
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of GIS data management practices
  • Understanding of Indoor GIS
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, information systems, IT, geography, computer science, or STEM related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with/knowledge of the following:
    • Working on a software development team developing a software product using Scrum process
    • Working with 3D data - CAD/Autodesk, BIM/REVIT
    • Testing and writing test plans
    • Authoring user assistance help and user stories
    • Being a Scrum Product Owner
    • Building scanning technologies and approaches
    • Enterprise Geodatabases (SQL Server, Oracle) and multi-user editing
    • Data modeling spatial models
    • Python

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is

$72,800 - $124,800 USD
