Product Designer I - ArcGIS Pro

Esri is looking for an experienced Product Designer who is passionate about user-centered design, interaction design and transforming user insights into impactful usable GIS solutions. In this role you'll work closely with product owners, product engineers, developers and other designers to create a modern enterprise experience enabling organizations to make sense of their geographic data through spatial analysis, mapping visualization, and authoritative data management in both 2D and 3D.
Responsibilities
- Lead design projects from brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping through to implementation
- Produce high fidelity visuals that are consistent across apps and conform to platform conventions
- Collaborate closely with product engineers and developers to ensure a high-quality user experience and implementation
- Effectively organize and communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to the wider development teams
- Influence the shape of the product with research and data
- Facilitate design exercises that encourage participatory and iterative design techniques
- Work closely with design and product leadership to become a key player in determining the future direction of Esri's field applications
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience designing applications
- An online portfolio that demonstrates your design abilities, how you think, and a strong understanding of client objectives
- Proven knowledge of user-centered design principles and platform interface guidelines
- Proficient skills with design software Figma
- Experience creating diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to solve problems in collaboration with a team of designers, engineers, and QA as well as with business stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in human factors, interaction design or a related field

- Familiarity with GIS and the ArcGIS platform
- Understanding of Microsoft's Win32 and UWP Design Guidelines
- Familiarity with front end development technologies, CSS, HTML, Javascript, etc.
- Familiarity with Windows development technology, e.g., XAML, WPF

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$70,720 - $114,400 USD
