SoulCycle is seeking a Retail Merchandising Assistant (MA) to support our dynamic retail team. This entry-level position provides critical support to the Merchandising, Buying, and Planning teams and offers a developmental opportunity for growth into roles such as Assistant Buyer, Planner, or Site Merchandiser.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly collaborative individual with strong operational and e-commerce acumen. This role involves site merchandising, product uploads, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration—particularly with Retail, Marketing, Operations, and Tech teams.
You’ll report directly to the Manager, Retail Merchandising, and contribute to both strategic initiatives and daily execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Merchandising & Buying Support
● Generate ad hoc reports using Excel and Looker (e.g., purchase orders, pricing updates, sales data).
● Maintain and update the Buy Plan and Cad Deck with the Buying team.
● Own style and purchase order creation in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
● Ensure accurate data maintenance across Centric PLM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Planning tools.
● Track and troubleshoot shipping issues via the PO Log.
Vendor & Sample Management
● Maintain up-to-date vendor database and manage external communications as needed.
● Coordinate and track all product samples; maintain the sample tracker and internal photo library.
● Assist in monthly photo shoots: organize samples, follow up on casting, coordinate contractors, and support on-set logistics.
Site Merchandising & E-Commerce
● Manage all product and image uploads to the Shopify e-commerce platform.
● Partner with the Buying team to optimize product display and storytelling for each collection.
● Support monthly marketing initiatives through cross-functional playbook development.
Process & Reporting
● Compile and distribute sales and performance reports for internal and vendor use.
● Identify and propose opportunities for improving merchandising operations and efficiency.
● Participate in weekly/monthly product meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
Qualifications
● 0–2+ years of experience in merchandising and/or e-commerce (Shopify experience a plus)
● Strong business acumen and a proactive mindset
● Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
● Strategic thinker who also excels at tactical execution
● Up-to-date on design and retail industry trends
● Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Highly organized and detail-oriented
Pay Transparency: $29/hour | 40 Hours/Week, contract to perm role
