Job Summary

Leads day to day field operations for all data centers in the Growing Emerging Markets North (GEMN) region. Responsible for executing the growth and expansion agenda for the region whilst enabling a people first culture where everyone feels they belong. This role will also drive consistency and streamlined approach to operations within EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic planning and priorities for data center operations
  • Establish and track against KPIs, SLAs, and metrics (incl. regional performance, capacity, availability, and budget)
  • Oversee on the ground incident response, problem resolution, and change management to support Equinix customer experience
  • Drive a customer centric approach and ensure consistency in operations across all data centers in the region, aligning with EMEA and Global standards
  • Coordinate with global design and construction team to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Drive alignment and collaboration with the region's cross functional stakeholders (Sales, Customer Care, Country MD's and EMEA President) and key customers
  • Establish critical business continuity plans, including design and implementation of disaster preparedness, detailed project management, and logistics coordination
  • Establish and track safety measures to ensure safety of frontline resources
  • Empower frontline resources to meet customer needs through incentives and process
  • Create a high performing leadership team, who can in turn drive the strategic direction through actionable deliverables
  • Enable a people first culture, promoting inclusivity and collaboration, to empower and motivate teams on a shared vision

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of datacenter operations management and maintenance or similar; leadership and cross functional management experience
  • Experience optimizing a growing and evolving business -leading a large organization through a period of rapid growth, or business transformation
  • Proven experience of developing high performing teams and a people first culture
  • Focus on execution and results - establishing high standards for performance, setting goals and developing plans, following through and holding people accountable for results
  • Ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision and influence
  • Leader in the Magic of Equinix and guardian of the employee experience across the Region with the ability to build followership
  • Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals
  • Financial acumen and ability to connect operational objectives to financial results
