Job Summary

Provides direct supervision to professional individual contributors and/or skilled, support individual contributors.

Acts as guide to unit or sub-units and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying and ensuring a safe & efficient storage and distribution of goods for Equinix and its customers
  • Receives predetermined work assignments that are process-driven, and subject to a moderate level of control and review
  • Directs subordinates on a course of action based on knowledge of established policies and procedures
  • Provides input and contributes to managing costs related to a unit or sub unit
  • Responsible for the relationship between Equinix, Zona Franca Bogota, DIAN and government entities

Quality Assurance

  • Uses systems to maintain accurate records; is also able to interrogate various systems if queries arise
  • Enters all goods received in the stock inventory system, updates the database, and correlate the items received to ensure order requirements are fulfilled
  • Ensures accuracy of supporting documentation

Management

  • Supervises the learning performance and development for the team
  • Makes decisions to ensure the team works within the guidelines of the Equinix Delivery/Collection and Environmental, Health and Safety policies
  • Assisting the manager in organizing, planning and implementing strategy
  • Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals
  • Maintains schedules and workflow of the team
  • Provide support for all LATAM region countries regarding Inbound and Outbound Shipment process

Policies/Methods

  • Plans or implements improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes
  • Develops a site strategy that meets the business objectives of Equinix whilst ensuring excellent customer satisfaction
  • Helps develop and implement process(es) to maintain and monitor minimum/maximum stock Inventory to prescribed levels
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean practices

Compliance

  • Implements process(es) to maintain and monitor minimum/maximum stock Inventory to prescribed levels
  • Conduct scheduled audits at IBX's to examine if logistics processes are managed efficiently and effectively
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of lean practices and established procedures

Data Center Management

  • Supervises Data Center equipment and inventory levels
  • Guides and advises a unit or sub-units to meet schedules and solve problems
  • Liaises suppliers on inventory lead times and creating POM orders for stock
  • Define or improve KPI metrics of performance for the teams' members
  • Report KPIs regularly to senior Manager Ops in Colombia

Vendor Management

  • Regularly reviews with vendor and identifies areas of improvements
  • Work together with procurement team to keep updated LPU - List Price unit to create efficiencies and saving buying materials for customer installations

Reporting

  • Produces country monthly/quarterly reports of Inventory stock levels and customers announced/unannounced shipments
  • Produces monthly/quarterly reports of Inventory stock levels to various stakeholders
  • Provide quarterly reports and insights on how the department is functioning to empower decision making
  • May act as the interface in the managers absence
  • Responsible for produce all reports to be submitted for local government entities as DIAN, MINCIT, and Free Trade Zone (Zona Franca de Bogota)

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in foreign trade, import/export or related career
  • Specialization or additional studies in supply chain preferred
  • Regional hazardous materials certification or national H&S qualification preferred
  • Require knowledge in technical and interpersonal abilities as trade compliance, logistics management, market research, and strong communication skills, including cross-cultural communication and negotiation
  • Typically require financial knowledge and an understanding of international trade law, adaptability, problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams

Language Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English/Spanish, and Portugues desirable
