Job Summary:

The Software Asset Management Specialist (ServiceNow) is responsible for supporting the management of software assets within the organization using the ServiceNow platform. This role involves analysing software usage, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and assisting in the optimisation of software assets throughout their lifecycle. The Software Specialist will work closely with various teams to leverage ServiceNow capabilities and enhance software asset management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Asset Management: Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of software assets and licenses within ServiceNow. Support the tracking of software usage and compliance with licensing agreements. Conduct regular audits to identify unlicensed or underutilised software. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze software usage data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization. Generate reports and dashboards ServiceNow to provide insights into software asset status and compliance. Present findings and recommendations to management based on data analysis. Lifecycle Support: Assist in managing the software asset lifecycle from procurement to retirement. Support the implementation of processes software deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning. Collaborate with procurement and IT teams to ensure effective software acquisition and renewal processes. Compliance and Risk Management: Help ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements. Assist in developing and enforcing policies and procedures related to software asset management. Support compliance audits and address any licensing disputes or issues. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with IT, finance, and other departments to align software asset management strategies with business objectives. Provide training and support to staff on software usage and compliance best practices. Act as a point of contact for software vendors and licensing inquiries. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the software asset management function. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and ServiceNow enhancements related to software asset.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or a related field, with a focus on ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with software licensing models and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, particularly the Software Asset Management module, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ServiceNow Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
