Job Summary

Equinix, a leader in the Networking Industry, is looking for a Senior Product Manager focusing on the Next Gen Network (NGN) initiatives to drive the development of Equinix's Interconnection portfolio. Equinix Interconnection describes a set of networking focused services available to over 300 International Business Exchanges (IBX) and the NGN is one of the key building blocks for Equinix's interconnection portfolio, serving as a common programmable connectivity platform.

You have a deep understanding of internal Product Management, building networking software at scale, software development lifecycle & multi-cloud environments. Ideally, you have an in-depth understanding of the business value of software-based Network OS, network disaggregation, SDN, and distributed systems. You are adept at translating customer or product team requirements into deliverables. You will work closely with several network engineering, development, PMO & operations teams, while demonstrating an ability to gain alignment and drive execution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist definition and articulation of the product strategy into programs, epics, & user stories
  • Provide product leadership for cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful launches
  • Bring Industry knowledge and expertise of about users utilize cloud compute & networking platforms, and the available technologies the services that span networking across CSPs, NSPs, SaaS providers and ISPs
  • Lead business cases & communications for internal teams & executives while building alignment.
  • Partner with Product Engineering teams & Solutions Architects to understand end customer requirements and how best to prioritize development within actionable roadmaps
  • Validate ideas directly with internal customer teams - mainly, Product Engineering & Product Management - before, during, and after development
  • Define metrics that will be used to inform product success and help drive user experience improvements
  • Perform cost forecasting and comparative analysis
  • Provide internal customer and partner briefings and serve as an evangelist for Equinix NaaS services

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a software defined network infrastructure product management role or experience in software network engineering/architecture
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or relevant field of study or plus operating experience within large scale networking environments.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in CS, Eng or MBA
  • Experienced building complex software for Cloud Networks and NaaS; end-to-end experience building cloud technologies: CSPs (Cloud Service Providers), NaaS, network virtualization, & networking
  • Experience with 'at scale' networking constructs such as VPCs, API Gateways, Transit Gateways, Load Balancing, and key routing & forwarding protocols (BGP, IS-IS, VXLAN etc)
  • Knowledge of data center digital infrastructure capabilities and the value of interconnection orientated networking within this ecosystem
  • Understand how Enterprises use Observability tools & concepts and how they integrate them into their day-to-day operations
  • 10-15% travel for external or internal meetings and industry conferences

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $157,000 to $235,000 per year
• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $150,000 to $224,000 per year
• Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $136,000 to $204,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
