Job Summary

The Business Operations Catalyst team is an internal sprint team driving special projects for the executive team, focusing on solving complex problems to achieve specific goals. Typically, we lead initiatives lasting 3 to 6 months, aiming to swiftly mobilize cross-functional teams to make decisions and develop actionable plans. After achieving our engagement objective, we transition the work to the long-term functional owner for continued execution. Acting as internal management consultants, the Catalyst Team identifies opportunities, crafts recommendations and implements strategies to help the company reach its goals.

In the role of Catalyst Team Senior Manager, you will lead 1-2 Catalyst projects simultaneously, serving as the primary driver, problem-solver and facilitator of the project's execution strategy. In this role, you will thoroughly investigate challenges, build an effective cross-functional team, design a comprehensive project strategy and plan, provide thought leadership, and facilitate decision-making to guide the projects towards successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Leadership

  • Clearly understands and communicates the vision and objectives of the project
  • Provides day-to-day direction to the team and guides the business leads
  • Partners with Catalyst Team Senior Director to ensure the team is setup for success and removes barriers such as identifying resources, securing funding, and driving alignment
  • Leads and mentors the Catalyst Analysts and program core team, providing consistent feedback to improve the team's effectiveness

Problem Solving and Decision Making

  • Conducts research, performs benchmarking, summarizes best practices, gathers and analyzes data, determines gaps, identifies root causes, and distills insights
  • Assesses analyses and recommendations from multiple angles driving to the right conclusion balancing cross-functional priorities, customer needs, and our strategy
  • Evaluates and queues up decision options with recommendations to the program team, steering committee and executive sponsor
  • Manages cross-functional discussions to resolve issues, address challenges, make decisions, and drive prioritization

Change Management and Program Management

  • Establishes the charter and program structure
  • Translates findings and vision into an implementation approach and project plan
  • Champions change throughout the project. Drives project team alignment from problem identification through recommendations and implementation
  • Develops and implement change and project management strategies. Applies appropriate best practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Tracks the project status. Identifies, monitors and escalates risks, actions, and decisions
  • Measures and communicates progress to the program team, SteerCo and key stakeholders

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following attributes:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience; management consulting experience preferred
  • Results-driven problem solver with critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Quick learner and ability to think on your feet
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to influence
  • Tenacity to push through challenges and solve hard problems
  • Ability to pivot between the big picture and the details
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills
  • Proven experience in project management
  • Skilled in navigating ambiguity
  • Strong ability to synthesize, distill, and simplify information
