Job Title: Software Engineering Intern (SmartView/DCIM Team)

Team Overview:
Equinix Smart View is a fully integrated software platform for data center infrastructure monitoring, providing real-time access to power draw, environmental, mechanical and electrical operating data relevant to your Equinix International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) data center footprint on Platform Equinix®.
We are looking for a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to innovative projects in the API and Developer Ecosystem space.
Position Overview:
As a Software Engineering Intern on the SmartView/DCIM team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the development of software solutions that improve data center operations. You will gain hands-on experience in software development, testing, and deployment while working on real-world projects that have a direct impact on our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to design, develop, and test software applications related to data center management.
- Assist in improving existing software tools and applications by implementing new features and enhancements.
- Contribute to the development of APIs and integrations with other systems and tools used in data center operations.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Help improve unit test coverage and overall software quality.
- Document software designs, processes, and user guides to ensure clarity and maintainability.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies and best practices in data center management and software development.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, graduating between December 2025 - December 2026.
- Familiarity with Java and Python
- Basic understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Interest and knowledge in Bigdata technologies like Apache Kafka, Cassandra , Rest APIs is a plus.
