Job Summary:
Receives objective based assignments, and determines resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect section or multiple disciplines. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques. Executes financials, business planning, organizational priorities and workforce.
Responsibilities
Management
• Manages supervisors and professional individual contributors. Guides through well defined management precedents.
• Manages teams to work safely, effectively and with high regard to human error avoidance.
• Manages personnel details including salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and development.
• Aids in testing, project management, and resolving incidents.
Project / Infrastructure Site Management
• Plans, coordinates, reviews budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the datacenters.
• Provides input and guidance towards budget.
• Overall site capacity management.
• Translates functional plans into operational processes and guides execution.
Vendor Management
• Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, (KPI's) Key Performance Indicators and (SLA's) Service Level Agreements.
Testing
• Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete
• Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure
• Writes all (MOP) Maintenance Operation Protocol scripts
Incident Management
• Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident
• Assists with root cause analysis and incident resolution
Typical Degree & Years of Experience
Minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience (8+). Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
