Database Engineering Specialist
Job Summary
Embark on a distinguished career with the Engineering Tool Brazil team at Equinix, where your role will be instrumental in overseeing our Managed Service tools. This esteemed position is designed for a dynamic professional who excels in orchestrating cross-national team engagements focused on the standardization of infrastructure architecture projects, alongside providing comprehensive support for the ecosystem underpinning our tools. What You'll Be Doing
- Provide N3-level support, including escalation and resolution of critical incidents and technical complexities.
- Perform capacity and performance analyses, pinpointing improvement areas and devising optimization strategies for infrastructure/database.
- Proactively monitor databases, ensuring high availability, and swiftly identifying and addressing issues.
- Engage in new project development to enhance and expand managed products, staying abreast of market trends and tools.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and manage product logical security, including security audits.
- Facilitate root cause analysis documentation following investigations of failures or problems.
- Participate in supplier meetings and technical events, contributing to a collaborative global architecture effort.
What We'll Expect From You
- A complete degree in the IT field.
- Profound knowledge in managing databases on physical/virtual servers, with a specific focus on MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and additional experience with Oracle.
- Expertise in VMWare virtualization-based infrastructure and TCP/OSI network infrastructure.
- Advanced proficiency in Linux Operating Systems and monitoring platforms such as Zabbix and Grafana.
- Fluent in English (conversational level) with the ability to create automation scripts, preferably in Python.
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure projects, database design, and API deployment.
