Data Centre Lead Technician (w/m/d)

Job Summary:

A highly skilled specialist who contributes to developing new concepts and techniques consistently works on complex assignments requiring action. Focus is on tasks requiring highly skilled and independent judgment, while contributing to developing new concepts and techniques for standard operating procedures. Supports the overall team.

Responsibilities

Queue Management / Reporting:

  • Coordinates incoming requests, and manages work assignments for customer orders, including complex requests.
  • Determines timelines for expedited orders, manages approval process, and handles custom order approvals.
  • Coordinates eligibility approvals and provides weekly activity reports to supervisor.

Installations:

  • Acts as a highly-skilled support for customer installations within the team, including rack and stack, cages, cable distribution trays, cabinets, and cable management/support systems.
  • Offers guidance for large-scale installations, coordinates installation challenges.

Cross Connects:

  • Supports datacenter cross-connect work requiring development of new concepts and techniques for standard operating procedure and judgement for installs, terminations, modifications, and testing.

Testing / Troubleshooting:

  • Leads fault resolution with advanced troubleshooting skills.

Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Manages relationships with internal stakeholders, and guides junior team members.

Customer Management:

  • Handles customer requirements and issues, attends coordination meetings, serves as a point of contact for complex requests.
  • Provides subject matter expertise support for customer communications.

Training:

  • Supports SOPs and standard processes, coaches on operations and safety, provides mentorship to team members.

Typical Degree & Years of Experience

  • Typically requires a high school diploma and 6+ years of equivalent work experience.
