Job Summary
This position is accountable for day-to-day activities of the company's construction and project accounting, as well as management of processes. This includes ownership of the related internal controls. The position is also responsible for evaluating current processes as well as developing and implementing improvements to take advantage of the Oracle system and fixed asset accounting best practices.

The position reports to the Manager of Accounting. The position will work closely with other functional areas in the Global Controllership Organization (GL, Tax, AP, FP&A) and will support and partner with GDC, Data Center Operations, IT, Product and CTO organizations.
Responsibilities
- Own the global construction in progress (CIP) and FA (Fixed Assets) accounting and internal cost capitalization processes
- Ensure all CIP accounting activities are completed timely and accurately on a monthly basis
- Prepares journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, SOX controls, and performs audit requests
- Continuously automate, streamline and improve CIP and FA accounting processes
- Effectively balance workloads, assignments and appropriately delegate responsibilities to staff
- Partner with Ops Finance, FP&A and other business partners as necessary, to continuously identify new internal cost capitalization opportunities and operationalize the capitalization, while also keeping processes scalable
- Ensure the integrity of key processes by understanding systems, flow of transactions, internal controls and work with business partners to help define efficiency and effectiveness improvements
- Represent Capex and CIP accounting in projects/reviews
- Understand relevant company accounting policies and procedures and has the ability to interpret these to make quick decisions and provide guidance
- Manage ad-hoc projects and requests for data and analysis from business partners
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience preferred
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required. CPA / MBA preferred
- Strong use of ERP / Accounting systems. Knowledge of Oracle Cloud and Hyperion preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP & Sarbanes-Oxley is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent analytical skills. Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems
- Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company's policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to solve a wide range of complex accounting issues
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work in EMEA or US time zone to support these markets
