ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Progress OpenEdge Developer to join our client project team in Zurich. The role entails a hybrid model, combining remote work with on-site presence. As a key member of the development team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our suite of applications built upon the Progress OpenEdge technology.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, develop and maintain Progress OpenEdge applications
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing and deployment preparation
- Ensure compliance with best practices, coding standards and security guidelines
- Work closely with system administrators, database administrators and other stakeholders to optimize application performance
- Contribute to the upgrade process of the Progress tech stack to the latest version

- Proven experience as a Progress OpenEdge Developer
- Experience with database design, optimization, performance tuning, data modeling and schema design
- Ability to perform system administration tasks related to the Progress OpenEdge environment
- Familiarity with system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance analysis and understanding of system security and access controls
- Experience with Java programming: ability to integrate Java components with Progress OpenEdge applications and knowledge of Java frameworks and libraries
- Experience with Linux operating systems, Bash scripting for automation and system management and familiarity with shell commands, file manipulation and process control
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details
