Lead UX Designer

Río Grande, Mexico

The UX Designer II understands and delivers UX Design methods and execution across the full lifecycle of the creation of a product or experience : from understanding and defining the design strategy, structure, and flow behind an experience, to the creation and execution of interaction and visual design artifacts that support the development of a product or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Crafts effective and useable design concepts, interaction, and visual design artifacts with high attention to detail and accessibility standards
  • Ensures that delivered designs are consistent with appropriate design systems and contributes to the continued enhancement and growth of design systems
  • Participates in and may sometimes facilitate design sprints and iterations. Executes design work within a design sprint, in collaboration with Product Management, UX and development partners
  • Participates in and may sometimes facilitate design strategy, concepting and definition activities including design thinking, service design blueprinting, journey mapping, user flow mapping and other UX methods. Delivers related artifacts
  • Provides constructive design feedback to other designers as part of normal design critique
  • Seeks out and collaborates closely with other designers in and outside of their product team on design patterns and approach across experiences
  • Collaborates closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to speak on behalf of the user to influence the direction of a product or experience and its associated roadmap.
  • In close collaboration with Product Manager and Product Owner, and with input and consideration for other UX team members, leads the management of own design tasks including defining those design tasks, scoping design tasks, setting appropriate targeted milestones and prioritizing design tasks
  • Ability to integrate vendor/third-party applications and propriety, "in house" products into a holistic user experience.
  • Implements and aligns with UX Chapter defined processes and best practices within product team. Educates and is an ambassador for UX processes and value on team
  • Supports and collaborates with a variety of UX disciplines across divisions to deliver high quality user experiences and achieve strategic business and UX goals

  • 10+ years experience, 5 years of experience in UX Design
  • Experience working with modern design tool sets to include: Sketch and Axure
  • Experience in user-led design
  • Deep expertise in complex application/interaction experience design with thoughtful consideration of established interaction patterns
  • Experience developing wireframes, sketches, user flows, and prototypes describing how users will interact with the product
  • Open and eager to partner and collaborate with company Experience Strategy Designers, Researchers, and SMEs to improve and grow our Product
  • Experience working with software engineers, quality assurance, system engineers, architects, and product managers to solve user experience challenges
  • Experience successfully partnering with onshore/offshore strategic design teams to deliver high-value experiences
  • Being proactive and a self-starter is highly desired
  • Experience adhering to established design standards for visual design and utilizing established component libraries as part of the design process
  • Excellent communication skills in English is a must since the role interacts with different stakeholders
