As a Solution Architect for Mainframe Modernization, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our clients through the transformation of their legacy mainframe systems into modern, agile, and scalable solutions. You will work closely with our clients to understand their unique business needs, assess existing mainframe systems, and design innovative solutions that drive digital transformation. Your deep expertise and exposure to legacy technologies, cloud integration, and modernization strategies will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Platform Accelerators team as a Product Owner - defining and implementing re-usable assets/patterns/tools to accelerate the Legacy Modernization Program
  • Architect and design solutions for the Legacy Modernization Program
  • Lead architecture discussions and collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Drive business and cloud transformation initiatives
  • Ensure the adherence to technical standards and best practices
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members
  • Assessment and Analysis: Collaborate with clients to assess their existing mainframe applications, identify pain points, and evaluate opportunities for modernization
  • Solution Design: Architect modernization strategies that align with client objectives, including re-platforming, re-factoring, re-architecting, and cloud migration
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership, guiding development teams and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of modernization projects
  • Legacy System Understanding: Utilize reverse engineering tools and techniques to gain a deep understanding of legacy codebases, databases, and business rules
  • Integration: Design and oversee the integration of modernized systems with existing systems, ensuring smooth data flow and interaction
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that modernized systems meet performance, security, and compliance standards
  • Scalability and Performance: Architect solutions that are scalable and high-performing, leveraging cloud technologies and microservices architecture
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation that includes architectural designs, best practices, and development guidelines
  • Client Collaboration: Build strong relationships with clients, providing expert guidance, addressing concerns, and facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying innovative solutions to complex modernization challenges
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in a position of Senior/ Lead Solution Architect
  • High proficiency in Java
  • Experience in Architecture Design, Cloud Transformation, Modernization Technologies
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Certifications in relevant technologies and architecture frameworks are a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with English-speaking internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Must work from the office 3 days a week in Toronto
