About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer to lead and oversee cloud security for a project focused on Amazon AWS.
This role demands a proactive approach to enhancing our security posture and ensuring the resilience of our cloud-based systems.
As a Security Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for the implementation, and management of our security infrastructure. Your technical expertise and strategic approach will be essential in protecting our assets from emerging threats, ensuring implementation and ongoing compliance against appropriate technical security controls in-line with the Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Control Matrix (CSA CCM), and supporting the overall security objectives of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage security solutions within the AWS cloud environment.
- Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and vulnerability tests to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Design and implement robust security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of data and infrastructure.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing timely and effective resolution.
- Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and countermeasures, particularly in cloud computing and AWS services.
- Provide expert guidance and leadership on cloud security matters to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Document all security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and legal regulations.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience as a Security Engineer, with a strong focus on cloud security and extensive experience with AWS.
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture and security principles, with hands-on experience in implementing security controls and compliance measures.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to cloud security (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex security issues and incidents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security Specialist, CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable.
