Job Title: Database Administrator
Job Summary: The Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database systems. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management. The Senior Oracle DBA will work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of database systems.

- Monitor database performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement best practices for database tuning and optimization.
- Analyze and resolve performance issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Perform regular backups and recovery tests to validate strategies.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
- Manage user access and permissions to ensure data security and compliance.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including patching and upgrades.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate reports on database performance, usage, and capacity planning.
- Work closely with application developers to optimize database interactions.
- Collaborate with system administrators to ensure seamless integration with other IT systems.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their database needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Extensive experience with Oracle database versions [specify versions, e.g., 11g, 12c, 19c].
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) is preferred
