About The Role:

As a member of the Portfolio Analytics team you will be one of Enova’s most valuable resources. You will develop and maintain the company’s predictive models for use in determining the appropriate lending criteria, verification procedures, and acquisition decisions.  At times, you may be asked to conduct ad hoc analysis using statistical and financial tools to provide recommendations for risk management, marketing, product design, and operational strategies.

Enova's Analytics team consists of over 50 quantitative professionals dedicated to using the latest cutting-edge techniques to drive business value.   We are a shared service for the entire company and operate in four core Analytics workgroups:

  • Portfolio Analytics: PA focuses on building cutting edge risk, pricing, and acquisition models to optimize our lending decisions by using an array of machine learning models, trained on a constantly evolving combination of in-house and externally sourced data.
  • Fraud Analytics: Members of the FA team use advanced machine learning and statistical techniques to identify and fight fraudulent applications and loan activity.
  • Business Forecasting: BF is responsible for working with Enova’s Finance and Accounting departments to provide insight into the future of our brands and the profitability of our portfolios.
  • Machine Learning Operations: The MLOPs team builds and maintains all of our technical tools and platforms.  They help investigate new analytics methodologies, use cases, and data sources, to institute new and best practices within the department. They are responsible for

We are language agnostic, but primarily use Python, R, and SQL. That means YOU get to pick the tool that works best for you and the analysis at hand.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
  • The ability to interpret and organize data, and communicate it effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfort working on challenging, analytical problems that often require novel solutions and have vague requirements
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language used for statistical analysis and model building (preferably R or Python)
  • An understanding of, and first hand experience developing, common machine learning algorithms used for predictive modeling
  • Excited to learn applied data science and Fintech/Lending industry specific concepts

We’re Excited If You Have:

  • 1-3 years of work experience in Analytics or related field
  • Experience working with relational databases, such as Postgres or Snowflake (SQL) 
  • Knowledge of AWS web resources for model building and deployment (ie. EC2 and Sagemaker)
  • Experience in the financial and consumer lending industry
  • Ability to use Excel/Powerpoint or equivalent for compiling and presenting your work to business leaders outside of the analytics team.

Compensation: 

This position includes various levels within our career ladder. The actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the ranges shown.

Budgeted annual salary ranges:

  • Data Analyst I:  $63,000 - $84,500
  • Data Analyst II: $75,500 - $98,000

Additional compensation for this role may include a bonus and restricted stock units. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in Company benefits, described in more detail here.
