Who We Are:
Utilizing the latest imaging technology and advanced minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases in almost every part of the body, we are able to treat diseases that are traditionally managed surgically, with less pain and shorter recovery time. Image-guidance with X-ray, ultrasound, and CT ensures greater accuracy and safety in these treatments. Most procedures are performed in an outpatient setting with sedation and no overnight hospital stay.
About the Job:
Delivers care to patients and families undergoing radiological procedures with needs ranging from basic to complex utilizing the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic environment for the pediatric and adult patient and their family’s undergoing diagnostic, interventional or therapeutic imaging procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists in diagnostic & interventional radiology procedures as well as diagnostic & interventional vascular procedures and interventional radiological procedures, including but not limited to angiography, angioplasty, and stent placement; biopsy procedures; fibroid removal; fluid and abscess drainage/aspiration, dialysis access insertions/removals/declotting, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, line placements, tube insertions/changes, RF ablations, myelograms/discograms and venograms.
- Delivers care to the pediatric, adult, or geriatric patient within scope of practice and competency undergoing a diagnostic imaging procedure, including but not limited to CT, fluoroscopy, nuclear med, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Assists with emergency procedures associated with radiology and vascular procedures.
- Follows established standards and practices under the direction of a credentialed radiologist, cardiologist, interventional radiologist, or surgeon.
- Completes pre-procedure assessment based on patient/family interview, physical assessment, and review of clinical data; communicates patient status and patient needs to physician and other team members as part of procedural process.
- Recognizes emergencies and changes in patient’s condition and seeks assistance as appropriate.
- Participates in the peri-procedure care of patients with complex problems/or undergoing complex invasive procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency in performance of procedures in the interventional radiology lab and recovery process; provides effective delivery of patient care pre, intra and post procedure care delivery.
Who You Are:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of critical care experience or radiology experience
- New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
- BCLS, ACLS required.
- Nurses are expected to pursue professional certification upon eligibility or within three years of entering the specialty practice.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one (1) year from date of hire.
