The NA Technical Capabilities Manager is responsible for the ongoing training and development of the Aveda Technical Specialists by cultivating their training skills and knowledge. They provide complete training to the Field on brand product, artistry and services in order to prepare the field to deliver brand education. In addition, the Technical Capabilities Manager will evaluate the Field's expertise through certification process to oversee training quality for the brand. In partnership with Global Education, this role is responsible for creating customized curricula fit for use in the North America market.

This role will also deliver training and content in partnership with sales with a specific focus with top salons, on gaining new business and domain expansion, developing and executing artist engagement and growth strategies through education.

  • Create a quarterly training plan that aligns field training needs with business goals and budget.
  • Train education specialists (All Markets) through meetings and on-the-job training to deliver education content created by the brand for all channels and target students.
  • Train Trainers on content and delivery of instructor-led Seminars.
  • Evaluate instructor-led training effectiveness of Trainer and provide development feedback to their supervisor as part of the Performance Management plan.
  • Train new hires as well as help veteran employees improve upon existing skills in areas of brand education.
    Assess Field's training effectives to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into field coaching and training.
  • Responsible for creating content to support technical ambassador, insider programs seasonally, to support launches and product service enhancements.
  • Liaise between ambassador programs, marketing, and global functions as necessary
  • Participate as voice of education on cross functional tasks forces.
  • Conducts specialized brand trainings for POS staff, as needed.
    Stay abreast of new trends and training tools in employee development.

Qualifications

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and mastery in the area they are training (hair cutting / styling / coloring, product, artistry, service experience)
  • Must be able to demonstrate the skills they teach themselves
  • Good personal and observational skills to assess Field understanding and progress
  • Basic computer skills with ability to work in Excel + PPT
  • Administrative skills and basic budget management.

Anticipated Base Salary Range $84,000- 126,000 (Depending on qualifications, skills, experience and/or budget).
