Onboarding & Screening Specialists are responsible for maintaining standards of program quality and compliance with program regulations.  The role requires confidence, diplomacy and discretion. Onboarding & Screening Specialists oversee a region of local exchange coordinators and are charged with training and guiding them in the host family screening process. This role also works with prospective host families as they move through the application process. Onboarding & Screening Specialists determine final suitability and acceptance while also working to ensure host families and local exchange coordinators remain well-supported and excited about their upcoming experience.

About You

You have a passion for customer service and are committed to excellence in your daily work. You are operations-oriented with a strong professional phone demeanor and the ability to change priorities quickly. Multitasking is easy for you and you are able to manage a high volume of information while remaining productive in a fast-paced work environment. You are decisive, organized, detail-oriented and have a good sense of judgement. You are approachable and thrive in a cross-cultural and team environment.

  • 1-3 years customer service experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional/office experience is a plus
  • Self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to motivate field staff to hit very challenging goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong sense of organization and attention to detail
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

EF High School Exchange Year (HSEY) is a non-profit high school foreign exchange program affiliated with Education First. We bring students from around the world to live with volunteer host families and enroll in local high schools for either one semester or a full academic year. Our mission is to promote international understanding and global awareness across the US. Together we share culture and languages, open communities to the wider world and create lifelong bonds that span the globe. This position’s peak season is over the summer. During that time, staff vacation is limited and extended hours may be necessary. EF offers a full range of medical, dental and other benefits, including a 25% match on your 401K. First year staff are provided a generous 3 weeks of vacation. EF hosts regular professional development trainings to keep you moving forward in your career. In accordance with public health guidance, all of our staff are currently working from home. However, our EF culture still runs strong. From virtual happy hours, group workout classes, and collaborative technology, we'll make sure you can stay close to your colleagues -- even from home. We hope to get back to the office at some point in Summer/Fall of 2021, and this role will be based in our Boston office at that time.
