Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

What You'll Do:
The Senior Network Engineer in the Network Architecture Department will be responsible for tactical and strategic architectural guidance, technological vision, and solution deployment. The role will need to collaborate with Infrastructure Architecture, Cloud Team, Security, Command Center/SOC, and Enterprise Observability/Monitoring departments to develop and drive network infrastructure and monitoring solutions. You will work closely with peers and subject matter experts to research and develop architecture blueprints and roadmaps, perform testing, and verify solutions in lab/dev environments, contribute to RFP efforts, develop cost models, and contribute to business cases, present recommendations to leadership and explain why it is in the firm's best interest to pursue selected technologies or products. This role is hands-on and contributes to delivering and implementing network infrastructure, automation/IaC, and monitoring system projects with full documentation for developed solutions.

Here are a few of the key responsibilities you will be a part of...

  • Work to understand the customer or stakeholder, their needs, and concerns to define and deliver solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into solutions that support EJ business strategy while ensuring architectural adherence through blueprint and design reviews.
  • Lead in scope/predictable timeline definition, requirements and costs gathering/analysis, technical design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and operationalizing of secure network infrastructure solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure and operations with the intention of elevating the stability, observability, and resiliency of systems.
  • Demonstrate forward thinking by proactively researching and developing technology use-cases that can support the firm's future strategy and efforts.
  • Serve as an expert for network management/monitoring platforms and automation, including on premise and SaaS deployments.
  • Create and contribute to Architecture Decision Records and present in Architecture Review meetings.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to team members across business and technical teams in solving complex business requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively present recommendations and decisions with pertinent data and research to various technical and business leadership levels of the firm.
  • Lead and contribute to the Network Services incident response team, driving problem management efforts to a complete conclusion.

Hiring Minimum: $84100
Hiring Maximum: $143100

Skills/Requirements

What Experience You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise network solutions, to include cloud, on-prem, colo and remote networks, software defined networks, automation and IaC, routing, switching, load-balancing, DNS/DDI, firewalls, Wi-Fi, packet analysis, etc., including:
    • 5+ years of experience managing/operating network monitoring, observability, telemetry and management platforms, systems, techniques, and protocols (SNMPv2/v3, gRPC, etc...).
    • 2+ years of experience administering and operating a NetBrain platform including mapping, runbook creation, and automation.
    • Understanding and experience with:
      • TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS/DDI, NX-OS/IOS-XE, Meraki, EOS, modern firewall products, AVI/F5 load balancing functions.
      • Virtualization/containerization and cloud computing technologies.
      • GitHub, CI/CD pipelines and integration with IaC languages such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Experience with LogicMonitor, Netscout nGenius, ThousandEyes or other monitoring systems.
  • Azure Cloud experience including core network and foundational platforms and troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong understanding of project management and Agile concepts.

This role has occasional evening and/or weekend support depending on the needs of the business/team *

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
