Edward Jones has developed a new wealth management offering tailored to meet the unique needs of high-net-worth (HNW) clients and we need your help launching this new offering and brand, Edward Jones Generations™. We're looking for strategic thinkers and collaborators who have a strong background in the many complex needs of financial planning as well as a deep desire to put their clients first in everything they do. We're creating all-new market locations to help us better reach our clients and we'd love to have you join us here.

The Edward Jones Generations™ team provides an end-to-end, HNW client experience by partnering with our branch teams to provide ongoing client services including holistic financial planning, tax and estate planning services via trusted 3rd parties, plan implementation via expanding sets of Edward Jones products and services, and ongoing reporting and support.

What You Will Do:
The Private Banking Strategist leverages the extensive resources of our home office and external 3rd party partnerships to serve HNW clients with complex needs in the following ways:

  • Serve as a banking expert in partnership with the senior planner and financial advisor to uncover, understand, and articulate banking needs
  • Partner with various internal stakeholders as part of the Banking Business Unit
  • Partner with service providers, such as US Bank and other third-party referral network members to bring forward holistic strategies and solutions to meet client goals
  • Leverage relationships with external 3rd party service providers, such as US Bank and other third-party referral network members on planning strategies, recommendations, and implementation
  • Leverage the firm's full suite of financial planning tools to help clients define their financial goals, identify lending and cash management planning opportunities, and monitor progress to keep clients on-track to meet their goals
  • Ability to review HNW client statements and identify opportunities to implement strategies that better align to client goals related to banking, lending and/or cash management
  • Expected to translate complex planning strategies in a way that clients can understand (both verbal and written) including education and trade-offs for each proposed strategy

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Planners and partner with home office and third-party experts to support financial advisors and deliver the high-quality Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) required to meet our HNW client's wealth management needs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for complex situations requiring deep technical knowledge and extensive banking expertise
  • Support the implementation of banking strategies and recommendations
  • Communicate at an appropriate technical level with financial advisors, HNW team, and clients to gain understanding of client's needs, aid in documenting client goals, articulate complex strategies and recommendations, identify solutions needed to help the client achieve their goals, and build relationships with clients and financial advisors.
  • Serve as a conduit to Banking Business Unit and third-party banking and lending providers such as US Bank and HNW Referral Network members. Setting expectations with service providers, client, financial advisor, and HNW team to deliver timely advice and customized solutions. Connect client's banking needs to their financial plan. Clearly articulate services to be rendered to 3rd party service providers. Need to ensure that 3rd party advice aligns to EDJ advice and guidance
  • Facilitate the timely delivery and execution of banking, lending and cash management planning advice between the third-party service provider and HNW team
  • Lead or actively contribute to key strategic initiatives/projects within and across Wealth Management Advice & Solutions (WMAS) division supporting our HNW strategy and team, in collaboration with internal/external stakeholders, that enable the firm's evolution to deliver ongoing financial planning and asset management services
  • Work in partnership with Edward Jones internal stakeholder groups (Edward Jones Trust Co, Compliance, Legal, Service, Operations, Senior Portfolio Strategist, etc.) to ensure proper alignment and continued evolution in partnership with the HNW business segment and APPS strategies
  • Help shape and inform HNW client facing advice and guidance related to complex banking, lending and cash management as well as provide input on future products and services needed to meet client needs

Hiring Minimum: $99200
Hiring Maximum: $168900

What Experience You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related degree required
  • Series 7 and 66 required within 6 months of hire
  • Insurance license required 6 months of hire
  • CFP® preferred or obtained in accordance with firm policy
  • Minimum of 5 years Private Bank lending experience for HNW investors including securities-based lending, residential mortgage, commercial real estate, equipment financing (jets, yachts, etc.), life insurance premium financing, fine art financing.
  • Direct client service experience as a member of a HNW client-facing professional team required

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Prior commercial lending experience preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in the financial services industry preferred

*Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday
