As an IT Operations DR Engineer on the Secure Infrastructure and IT team, the ideal candidate is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure the availability and resilience of IT systems and data in the event of a disaster or disruptive incident. This role involves working closely with IT teams, business units, and other stakeholders to identify critical systems, assess risks, and design robust recovery strategies. Responsibilities:

Disaster Recovery Planning:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical business processes, applications, and data.
    • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Develop and maintain detailed disaster recovery plans and procedures.

Infrastructure Resilience:
    • Work with system administrators and network engineers to ensure that hardware, software, and network components support disaster recovery objectives.

Testing and Validation:
    • Coordinate and conduct regular disaster recovery testing exercises.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of recovery plans and update them based on lessons learned.
    • Document and communicate test results and improvement recommendations.

Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all disaster recovery plans, procedures, and configurations.
    • Ensure that documentation is easily accessible to relevant personnel.

Incident Response:
    • Collaborate with incident response teams to ensure a seamless transition from incident detection to recovery.
    • Provide technical expertise during actual incidents, contributing to the swift resolution of issues.

Training and Awareness:
    • Conduct training sessions and awareness programs to educate staff on disaster recovery procedures.
    • Foster a culture of preparedness and awareness regarding potential IT disruptions.

Compliance and Standards:
    • Stay informed about industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and standards related to disaster recovery.
    • Ensure that disaster recovery plans comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in IT, with a focus on disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and networking.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with disaster recovery tools and technologies.
  • Certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus.
