Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Tool & Die Maker.

The hours for this role are 7:00am - 3:30pm

The hourly rate for this position is $38.13 per hour.

What you'll do:

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for building and repairing all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.

In this function you will:

• Operate an array of precision machines, such as conventional lathes, mills, and drill presses, and CNCs
• Determines specifications for inspection of work using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining.

• Use various hand tools and measuring devices
• Plans and performs the set-up and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolant, lubricants, and machine feeds and speeds
• Perform various phases of deburring operations
• Monitor work to ensure that the machine is not malfunctioning

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required
• Must possess current journeyman's status as a Tool Maker from an accredited tool making apprenticeship program
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Position Criteria:
• Must demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of geometric Tolerancing, trigonometry, and shop math as they relate to specific job duties
• Must be able to read and interpret wide variety of written instructions (including prints and sketches)
• Must be skilled in the use of various kinds of power tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and measuring equipment as required by the job
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions when performing job duties
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work with limited supervision
• Must be able to manufacture to exact specifications using a variety of materials including metals (both ferrous and non-ferrous), plastics, glass, laminated stock, rubber, wood, etc.
• Must be able to use the measuring and gauging equipment to perform tasks to exact specifications
• Must demonstrate a high degree of craftsmanship, independent judgment, and problem solving skill
