Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Test Technician. This position will be located at our Argyle Test Lab in Jackson, MI.

The Test Technician is responsible for testing both prototype and production hardware to verify that it performs to the customer-required specifications. In this role, you will determine what data is needed and then identify the actual test methods, materials, fixtures, and equipment required. Additionally, you will perform tests and present data to the internal lab customer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $45749.97 - $67099.96 a year.

What you'll do:

• Review test procedures and schematics to determine appropriate test equipment, instrumentation, and data collection.
• Perform testing in accordance with test specifications - including mechanical / hydraulic test setup, instrumentation & data collection, review of test results, and sample / data storage.
• Maintain a safe working environment. Abide by all safety requirements and guarding. Design safety into every test and activity.
• Collect and verify accuracy of testing data.
• Communicate test results or anomalies to the requestor.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Jackson, MI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in a technical field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in a product development, engineering test lab or manufacturing environment.
• Experience devising, fabricating and assembling new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
• Quality experience including machine calibration, gage verification, quality checks, corrective actions, preventative maintenance, and audits.

Skills:

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. unaided.
• Limited travel may be required (< 25%).
• Requires a high degree of mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on.
• Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics.
• Knowledge of test machines & instrumentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Desire and willingness to learn new products, technologies and test techniques.
• Ability to work independently is key.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with all levels of the organization.
