Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Switchboard Electrical Engineering Manager in Sumter, SC. Relocation assistances is available for candidates that reside 50 miles outside of Sumter, SC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Coordination: Take charge of all electrical tasks, from planning and coordinating to maintaining and meeting project schedules. Your leadership will be the key to our success.
  • Innovative Design: Manage the development of cutting-edge conceptual designs that meet customer requirements and leverage our factory capabilities.
  • Team Management: Guide your team through complex system engineering tasks, ensuring technical requirements are met with precision.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the review of engineering designs and drawings, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards before production.
  • Product Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of our switchboard product offerings, including wiring and design applications.
  • Support & Resolution: Assist assembly teams in resolving process and information quality issues, driving continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to initiatives that reduce cycle time, enhance front-end efficiencies, and improve information quality.
  • Performance Management: Administer performance management processes and support the career development of your direct reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster an environment that promotes Eaton's goals and philosophies, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including 5S requirements. Report and correct unsafe conditions, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions. Meet department MESH goals and achieve at least 85% on monthly MESH audits.
  • Quality Culture: Promote an Eaton Quality System (EQS) culture and Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years managing people or project teams
  • Minimum of 3 years customer order engineering experience
  • Experience with UL891, ANSI and NEMA Standards
  • Professional Engineering license

Position Criteria:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the application and manufacturing requirements for Eaton Switchboards
  • Demonstrated ability for problem solving using logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solution
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support customer and manufacturing requirements
  • Leadership experience in a high accountability culture and metrics driven environment.
