We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work within the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Supporting all operations areas of the Titchfield site. Providing day to day support to the production areas in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals.

What you'll do:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transitions/Supply Chain - Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to lead the introduction of Sub-Contract operations within the current manufacturing processes as well as supporting the Transitions buying team when moving product to a new supplier. You will collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, design engineering, and quality to deliver smooth process transitions that meet programme schedule, and performance goals.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Introduction & Industrialisation
• Define production/sub-con process flow and routings.
• Support supply chain with technical queries supporting the need for permits/concessions/design updates.
• Partner with Goods Receiving and Stores via MRB meetings.
• Evaluate and execute stock salvage.
• Generate rework process routings driven by delivery requirements.
Manufacturing Engineering
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient production for aerospace components and assemblies.
• Highlight and review appropriate tooling, fixturing and equipment used that may be beneficial to supplier.
• Support MRB (Material Review Board) process, reviewing, investigating and salvaging non-conforming supplied product.
• Support suppliers root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions using structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, DMAIC)
• Specify and validate live Permits, Concessions, SOPs and specifications meet drawing requirements.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP, internal specs).
• Support FAIR activities, and production readiness reviews.
Cross Functional Collaboration
• Coordinate with supply chain and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and process capability.
• Partner with operations to ensure smooth handover from in house manufacture to sub-contract supply ensuring delivery requirements are met.
• Work closely with Quality to ensure non-compliant product follows correct MRB procedures and is flowed back correctly to the supply chain.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering and Manufacturing when conflicts occur with design intent and drawing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated mechanical manufacturing environment.

Skills:

• Demonstrated experience and involvement with Sub-Contractors.
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as:
o Assembly & integration
o Fuel systems
o Special processes (heat treatment, surface finishing, part marking, etc.)
• Working knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP).
• Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) related activities, Risk Assessments, FMEAs, SPC, Continuous Improvement etc.
• Experience with automation, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g. AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work in fast paced environments.
• Detail oriented with a passion for process excellence.
