Strategic Finance Manager

Eaton's Electrical Sector - Energy Solutions and Services (ESS) Group is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to join our Distributed Information Technology (D-IT) Division. The preferred location for this position is Woodridge, IL (Chicago area), but candidates within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH or Moon Township, PA could be considered. Relocation assistance is available to Woodridge, IL only. Travel is expected to be around 10%.

As Strategic Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of finance professionals who partner with the commercial and operations teams of the Distributed IT division. These areas span between Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and R&D. This position reports to the D-IT Finance Director.

You will be responsible for overseeing activity that allows in-depth analysis to be performed at a divisional level, supporting general manager and department head level requests. You will utilize a technology based approach to provide insights and recommendations to the functions they support, steering decisions to align with objectives of the division.

What you'll do:

• Provide financial analysis, insight, interpretation, and communication to senior management of our product lines recommending & driving actions for improvement with sales and strategic capital investments. Define and measure key performance indicators and consolidated reporting to identify trends, opportunities and areas of improvement to drive accountability.
• Partner with the leadership team and functional directors to drive change and deliver results to meet strategic objectives and annual business goals. Be a business partner for Sales/Marketing and Operations leaders to provide insightful analysis/reporting/consolidation in support of sales profitability and capital investments
• Provide leadership to management in driving profitability optimization with sales and division investment portfolio. Support to business development/strategic investment projects, due diligence and additional ad hoc projects as it relates to sales profitability and capital investments
• Coordinate business level planning and reporting activities including profit and strategic planning, and operating review requirements for Order Entry, Sales (including Price/Mix) and capital in partnership within the division structure
• Advise marketing and operations directors in analyzing ROI and building strong business cases for customer and investment portfolios
• Partner with the finance director and division leaders to mitigate potential financial pitfalls and turn them into opportunities through scenario analysis and forecasting.
• In partnerships with business marketing, establish & maintain adequate commercial reporting by Customer and by Product providing clarity and accuracy of price/mix. In partnership with business operations, establish & maintain adequate capital reporting and manage portfolio consolidation and allocation
• Highly collaborative and integrated within the division working cross functionally with business and finance teams. Mentor and provide guidance to functional finance team including FPA
• Coordinate business level planning and reporting activities including monthly results, rolling forecasts for Order Entry, Sales (including Price/Mix) and capital
• Finance Transformation: Play an active role in supporting the finance team through Finance Transformation activities and through the evolution of commercial finance and business partnership
• Lean on technology to ensure speed, accuracy, and accountability for the functional areas you serve. You'll be in the driver seat and it is expected you go beyond simply supporting your team, you'll be delivering results.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 8 years' work experience in finance or business
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in business level planning and reporting activities for a top tier organization, P&L, or business unit
• Experience within a best-in-class finance function within a multinational, matrixed organization
• Electrical/power distribution or other related manufacturing industry experience
• Experience in providing analysis, recommendations, and communication to senior leadership.
• Comprehensive knowledge GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and Managerial Accounting helpful

• Detail-oriented with effective organization and time management skills
• Highly motivated, highly analytical and self-starter
• Strong financial acumen and business partnering skills
• Strong presentation skills and comfort interacting with professionals at all levels

The expected annual salary range for this role is $141000.03 - $206800.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
