Eaton's IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Sr Product Engineer.
What you'll do:
Primary Function:
The roles and responsibilities of packaging engineers include designing, developing, and testing packaging solutions to ensure that the products are safe during storage, transportation, and usage. They use different materials like plastic, paper, glass and/or metal to create cost-effective, durable, and functional packaging designs.
Primary responsibilities of this position are to define, develop, validate, get approval, implement, and document shipping packaging requirements for income components and finish good product; it includes the design and development of containers and materials used to hold, display, and safely transport all types of goods.

This position will be also responsible of coordinating the implementation of Engineering changes, plant wise where main function is to monitor and update engineering requests, authorizations, changes, and communication activities. Schedule and conduct regular meetings with engineering team to ensure changes actions are moving as per plan. Track and communicate on a regular basis ECR/ECO backlog and progress.
Qualifications:
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in product designing, packaging, or related engineering fields.
- 5 years of experience in packaging design and development in automotive manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3-years of experience coordinating Engineering changes in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and design.
- Strong knowledge of packaging technology, materials, and design principles with knowledge of testing methods, regulations, and standards for packaging.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software with project management skills.
- Understanding of IATF/TS16949 and APQP requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. #LI-DG2

- Strong creativity skills for developing unique packaging solutions using current trends.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and design.
- Proven ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
- SAP knowledge preferable
- Proven ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
- Experienced in New Product Introduction/Industrialization
- Able to travel domestic and international.
