Sr. Manufacturing Engineer

Eaton's Commerical Product & Assemblies division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. This role can be located out of Houston, TX, or Grapevine, TX. Relocation assistance will be provided.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $77,249 - $113,299 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads manufacturing productivity, process and improvement projects across the distributed satellite operating footprint through various methodologies (e.g. lean six sigma, continuous improvement framework, etc.) to help achieve business unit goals.

What you'll do:

  • Support manufacturing operations across 8 facilities to improve safety, quality of process, product throughput, cost improvement, and process capacity. Lead process improvement teams and support timely completion of improvement opportunities using structured problem solving.
  • Champion, mentor, and utilize the Lean Six Sigma method to improve manufacturing processes to meet manufacturing growth requirements. Apply structured problem solving to initiate break through improvements on their own via the DMAIC roadmap.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to drive teamwork across multiple disciplines.
  • Utilize data analytics tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Minitab to drive change and improve manufacturing processes. This includes analyzing production, sales, and key business metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage, verify, and validate cost out improvement projects across 8 facilities. First point of contact for Lean Six Sigma concepts and calculations
  • Provide input to annual capital budget for industrial engineering and continuous improvement priorities.
  • Scrap reduction and management for all facilities - own the process from start to finish, determine areas for improvement while investigating root cause. Create metrics, visual controls, and standard processes.
  • Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety improvements for fabrication equipment. Includes managing contractors, maintenance schedules, and machine guarding.
  • Lead efforts around technical training for all manufacturing personnel in support of continuous improvement and cultural change.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a manufacturing engineering or quality role
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline involving structured problem solving: all engineering disciplines, business administration, sciences
  • Two (2) years of experience implementing business process improvements and digital projects.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the electrical assemblies industry
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt
