Eaton's AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based in Davenport, IA.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs complicated and difficult Manufacturing Engineering assignments of major complexity under only general direction, requiring a high degree of technical and professional competence.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting independent technical projects.

• Develops and refines methodology for tracking, evaluating, and controlling production costs.
• Determines, documents, and communications "best practices" to be adhered to in the design and processing of parts or assemblies.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and plans method of approach and organizes means to achieve the solution to complex technical problems.
• May supervise/coordinate day-to-cay activities of others as assigned, insuring the timely completion of technical projects.
• Conducts investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new manufacturing methods and exploration of product and/or process problems.
• Performs all operations according to prescribed safety and environmental principles.
• All other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee or Refugee.
• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years engineering experience in manufacturing

• Lean manufacturing skills: value stream mapping

• Layout and process flows

• Aerospace industry experience

Position Criteria:

• Ability to use sound Engineering judgment and analytical skills to look at the big picture, and then get to the root cause of a problem, and guide others in the process.
• Ability to develop methods for evaluating product or process cost and assists others in using those tools to meet cost objectives on products.
• Able to use computer and other resources to independently research product and process cost drivers and recommend improvements.
• Very good written communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and understand technical proposals and reports.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of expressing ideas clearly and communicating effectively with employees at all levels in the organization, including the ability to prepare and make technical presentations to small groups.
• Ability to conceive and plan projects to meet departmental objectives, and to coordinate efforts of interdisciplinary teams to keep projects on schedule.
• Ability to find and evaluate new processes, suppliers, and technology for incorporation into our products and processes.
• Ability to recognize high cost features in new designs and recommend cost effective alternatives.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work in an office, lab, shop floor, and indoor industrial environment.
