Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer.
What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
1) Direct and coordinate the activities of production equipment in a cost-effective method.
2) Facilitate the daily workforce performance.
3) Coordinate production activities with supporting groups to ensure production objectives.
4) Support the production areas in a timely manner
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Drives and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site. Incorporate Safety into 5s activities. Upgrade Machine guarding fabrication / installation.
2) Lead, facilitate and coordinate manufacturing activities and resources in order to achieve in time and manner production lines launch that meet or exceed customer expectations.

3) Coordinate and supervise equipment supplier activities.
4) Assure that the new production lines meet MESH requirements.
5) Train and inform Supervisors, Team Leaders and Engineers cell technicians on current process techniques and new manufacturing concepts. Train and educate operators to optimize use of new and transferred equipment. Initiate and maintain process sheets for each step of the manufacturing process.
6) Analyze problems and supervise corrections related to machine capability and production rates (OEE). Maintain and improve current manufacturing processes to produce parts to specification.
7) Actively participate or champion in the continuous improvement process of the plant and implement costsavings in manufacturing to reduce waste including corrective actions to make an immediate impact to business results. Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA's.
8) Support PROLaunch (APQP) - Participating in aspects related to manufacturing of new released components or assemblies. Review and evaluate new products, processes equipment and facility proposal. Lead and execute installation, runoff, and startup of transferred and new equipment. Complete runoffs and PPAP's on time according to established schedules.
9) Define max/min supply of all related items to equipment, such as spare parts and other supplies.
10) Comply with requirements of the Quality System.
11) Champion multi-disciplinary teams in activities related to manufacturing issues
12) Define SPC control chart to control process for operation required. Apply corrective actions plan for Nonconformances detected in SPC data. Monitor SPC data capability and define actions to keep control of the process
13) Provide support to product line to quote new programs providing a manufacturing model
Qualifications:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
1) Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Manufacturing Engineering required.
2) 5 years' experience in manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally in the Automotive industry
3) Fluent English language at a conversational level required.
4) Knowledge and application of automotive Core tools.
5) Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and manufacturing processes.
6) Demonstrated design knowledge and training in automation, mistake proofing techniques, Mechanical design for tools / tooling with the usage of CAD/Solid work systems.
7) Background or experience in quality basics such as statistical process control, capability studies and gage R&R's. Green Belt (Six Sigma)
8) Knowledge of machinery functions (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical operations)
9) Complex Automatic assembly process knowledge.
10) Knowledge Transfer (Production line transfer using APQP) at least 2 transfers.
11) NPD at least 3.
12) Lead & execute installation, runoff, & startup of transferred & new equipment with the validation team (Safety, Quality, Production). Complete runoffs & PPAP's on time according to established schedules
13) RFQ process for products and production equipment / lines.
14) Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving, decision making and project management skills, experience conducting multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
15) Strong leadership and motivational ability as well as an excellent team player
16) Task and Result orientated.
17) Budget execution in time and manner

1) Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and fluency.
2) Demonstrated and mature systems integration, planning and execution abilities are essential.
3) This position requires some travel.
4) It requires the use management skills, act as a liaison for associates at all levels

Attachment (Detailed Responsibilities)
- Drives and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
- Accomplish with MESH requirements: EHS programs, waste requirements, training, inspections, etc.
- Participate EHS Gemba Walks / Inspections / Programs
- Creates and facilitates EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
- Submit Kaizen Burst ideas to Improve Safety
- Lead a team to evaluate and rank the plant's top ergonomic risks
- EHS Cost Out & Avoidance: Hazardous waste, Non HW, Water consumption, energy savings, etc
- Incorporate EHS into LEAN (VSM, 5S, TPM, etc)
- Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that EHS action items are resolved on a timely basis.
- Identify and Direct Lean EHS Project
- Completion of Root Cause Analysis & CAPA for significant injuries/illnesses/ EHS incidents
