What you'll do:

Job Summary
Identify, control and eliminate occupational hazards, supervise safety and environmental programs, carry out industrial hygiene and sustainability activities, perform risk analysis, perform incident investigation and ensure regulatory compliance. Participate in company initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities
• Develop, apply and keep up to date the procedures and formats applicable to EHS
• Document, analyze, communicate and graph accidents, incidents and near misses
• Coordinate matters related to emergency brigades
• Provide safety and environmental training
• Keep the security file tidy
• Apply the ISO 9000 requirements that apply to the area

• Collaborate in the updating of the WRAs
• Take action to prevent injuries
• Coordinate the different risk analyses

MESH Related
• Use the safety equipment established for this operation, glasses, gown, boots, earplugs (where applicable)
• Manage the controls and safety devices of your operation and equipment.
• Ensure that the personnel in charge respect the safety conditions.
• Report any problems related to them to the immediate supervisor.
• Support in the investigation of accidents.
• Collaborate with Clean Industry audits and requirements.
• Participate in MESH categories
• To be part of the Safety and Hygiene Commission
• Participate in the annual EHS budget
• Understand hazardous waste requirements as they relate to facility operations in the employee's work area;
• Respond to requests from site hazardous waste generators to transfer drums from satellite accumulation areas to the Temporary Storage area.
• Check drum condition, labeling, and close before moving. Make sure the closure is adequate to meet the requirements.
• Report drum movement to Hazardous Waste Managers;
• Provide empty containers in the satellite accumulation area once the full container is moved to the temporary warehouse
• Provide proper labeling on the new container once placed in the satellite accumulation area;
• Carry out inspections of satellite accumulation areas.
• Conduct inspections of hazardous waste temporary storage areas/Tanks, inspect each day of operation - check with status definition of ""standard work"" - Containers - inspect weekly - include status definition of "weekly" Record problems, if any, on inspection forms, make corrections, when possible. Record the date and type of correction made. If the problem cannot be easily corrected (i.e., on the spot), report the problems to hazardous waste managers;
• Notify the hazardous waste manager if questions or concerns arise regarding hazardous waste management;
• Provide initial response to emergencies based on contingency plan and training
• Any other function that corresponds to this position. #LI-DG2

Qualifications:

Education level required
• Completed degree (Engineering or LAE)
• English language proficiency 80%

Years and area of experience required
• 2- 5 years' experience in Safety and Environment
• Experience in ISO 14000 implementation and monitoring
• Hazardous Waste Recognition
• Generator requirements in the satellite accumulation area
• Contingency Plan Responsibilities
• Requirements for the management of satellite hazardous waste areas.

• Manufacturing Industry background is a must.

Technical knowledge
• Knowledge and experience in Safety and Environment
• Knowledge of computer systems (word, excel, power point, etc.)"
