Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Sr. Application Engineer.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year.

What you'll do:
The Cable Bus Application Engineer will support the Engineering Services team by providing product application and technical assistance for the B-Line division cable bus product line. Crucial to the success of the team and the business, the ability to produce precise technical drawings for manufacturing and assembly, while optimizing designs to meet performance standards and regulatory requirements is critical. The role will be to work with various aspects of the organization from marketing and sales to engineering and directly interact with outside customers.
• Design cable bus layouts with support structures, that comply with industry standards (CSA/NEC/CE), including calculating cable ampacity and trench design.
• Produce precise technical drawings for cable bus layouts and installation, while optimizing cable bus configurations to meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and installation instructions.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules
• Develop innovative solutions for cable bus design challenges, such as optimizing cable layout for reduced conductor count and efficient thermal management.
• Offer technical support and expertise to project teams during installation and commissioning of cable bus systems.
• Create and conduct cable bus product training for the sales force, customer service and customer.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to conceptualize, design, and prototype new products and components for cable bus product family.
• Utilize technical knowledge of production processes, product testing, and industry standards and review changes/updates for effects to product applications.
• Support cable bus product line managers with creation of presentation materials, application letters, and other documentation as needed.

Skills:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Minimum 3 years in design for power distribution (i.e. cable bus, cable tray, enclosures, switchgear)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the power generation and data center industries
• Knowledge of various types of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection equipment
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment with understanding of materials and processes.
• Strong understanding of CSA standard C22.2 No. 273:19, NEC, and CE standards.
• Ability to read architectural, structural and electrical drawings with minimal supervision.
• Solidworks (or equivalent CAD) proficiency
• Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate. Must be able to effectively interface with engineering and customers on a variety of technical issues.
• Very detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to operate as an individual contributor as well as a team member.
