Solutions Architect, Eastern US Region

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Solutions Architect, Eastern US Region. This will be a remote based position supporting the Eastern Region of the United States. All candidates must currently reside within the United States and must work out of a United States remote location. Candidates must reside within the Eastern Region of the U.S .

The Solutions Architect is responsible for working with the Sales and Business Development teams to conceptualize the application and integration of Eaton's connected solutions (Hardware, Software, APIs) as part of customer's systems. As we develop new solutions for Utility, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) integrators and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging, the Solutions Architect acts as a bridge between the customer product and technical teams, Eaton technical team and third party technology providers - in bringing together a seamlessly integrated overall solution that solves key customer problems. In this role, you will focus on "solutions" design, development and selling for the region, which are an integrated package of Eaton software content, Eaton digital platform, third party software technology, Eaton equipment and associated implementation/customization.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $101250.0 - $148500.0 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Lead Eaton technical sales engagement with target customers for outcomes, consultative and solution selling opportunities. Be able to articulate the Eaton solution to product as well as senior technical operations teams for customers.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support for customers: work with team to identify customer business problems, facilitate requirements gathering sessions, architecture presentations, product feature descriptions and value propositions, and software solution demos.
  • Work with the team to develop Eaton solution value propositions for key stakeholders.
  • Respond to RFP documents, put together solution requirements and design, system customization and configuration, align offerings and ultimately be the customers point of contact for maintaining the solution roadmap.
  • Support existing and new account planning and strategy, to bring in Eaton content and grow hardware & software revenue in the region. Provides technical and sales consulting, support for major account opportunities.
  • Stay current with latest technologies and standard in relation to utility demand management & DER integration as well as Electric Vehicle Charging.
  • Position appropriate Eaton products, services, third party technologies as part of a solution that fits the client needs.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years experience with developing and deploying digital solutions
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now and in the future.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time within assigned region

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related field from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of consultative, software selling experience.
  • Experience working in electrical, power management or utility industries
  • Experience with developing and translating business use cases to solution requirements and architecture documentation.
  • Experience in development and deployment of DER systems and/or EV Charging.

Skills:

  • Fluent with emerging utility, DER and EV Charging industry trends and implications on customers.
  • Technology leadership, self-motivation and drive to work with internal Eaton and external (partner, client) stakeholders for client satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate internally and externally and manage through long term relationships and influence.
  • Collaborative; develops longer term working relationships with the Eaton sales CRDS product management and engineering teams. Leverages influence to drive new ideas for growth.
  • Drives innovation through a culture of learning, front-line empowerment risk taking and obsessive customer focus.
  • Change agent for our customers/clients, sales organization, working through influence, trust and evangelism of new ideas for software solution development and selling. Be the champion in bridging the gap between customers and our engineering & product development teams.
  • Excellent client/customer facing skills: able to represent Eaton's digitalization/software journey with customers and be able to articulate Eaton's software value propositions.
  • Complex problem-solving skills in a highly matrixed organization. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and driving broader team to meet customer deployment timelines.
