Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Test & Controls Engineer.
This role is located in Waukesha, WI. Relocation assistance will be provided.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year.

What you'll do:
The Test Controls Engineer will be responsible for specifying, designing, and implementing new test equipment to support our Manufacturing Services projects. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure test systems meet specifications and standards. It involves specifying test equipment for supplier quotes, coordinating with suppliers during design, overseeing installation, and conducting runoff tests both at the supplier's site and Eaton's facility.

In this role you will:
- Test Equipment & Compliance: Develops detailed specifications, ensuring adherence to electrical safety practices, OSHA requirements, and hazard mitigation. Supports commissioning, troubleshooting, and servicing of test equipment and electrical systems.
- Safety & Process Optimization: Enforces safety expectations, documents hazards, and ensures compliance with electrical safety and quality standards. Collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, quality, suppliers, and customers to enhance processes and product performance.
- Problem-Solving & Equipment Management: Conducts root cause and failure analysis, applying problem-solving skills to improve cost, quality, and efficiency while mentoring others. Guides capital equipment selection, evaluates Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs), and drives testing/control initiatives.
- Technology & Project Leadership: Leverages technology to enhance information systems, eliminate waste, and streamline factory floor test data flow. Leads projects by defining goals, budgets, and work structures while aligning cross-functional teams and executing communication plans.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 2-3 years of experience working with and specifying electrical test equipment.
- Five (5) years of experience in computer programing software such as visual basic/studio, SQL, and other Microsoft applications. (i.e. Rockwell Software (RS and Factory Talk, RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, FactoryTalk SE, VB6, NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand, Python, Java, MATLAB)
- Five (5) years of experience with PLC, HMI programming and safety systems design.
- Must be eliglble to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management experience
- Machine safety guarding experience
- Demonstrated ability to interpret regulation and standards, and implementing Electrical Safe Work practices such NFPA 70E.
