Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Technician. The Technician will be responsible for the execution of reconditioning low and medium votlage power circuit breakers. The reconditioning process consists of disassembly of the power circuit breaker, parts cleaning, reassembly and final inpsection and both mechanical and electrical testing. This role will be based out of our San Diego, California location.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $52612.47 - $77164.96 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

  • Maintain a Zero Safety Incident Culture while adhering to the Life Saving Rules of Eaton
  • Maintain 5S and housekeeping to prevent any safety concerns
  • Follow written and oral instructions, adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain quality workmanship, observe safety procedures, report any unsafe acts or conditions immediately to management
  • Complete assigned projects safely within promised lead times, at or under budget, and within quality expectations; possess adaptability to changing conditions.
  • Receive direction and assignments from the assigned leader, and report any problems to the leader.
  • Visually check components and assemblies for electrical and mechanical defects.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint and schematics for assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Complete sub-assembly and wiring of any product as assigned.
  • Maintain quality records, calibration records, charts, and area performance to forecast as directed.
  • Demonstrate strong electrical and mechanical ability, good organizational skills, and good work habits with a proactive work ethic in a team environment.
  • Develop vendor relationships to assist with material specifications, quality control, purchasing, and delivery.
  • Responsible for full compliance with EESS safety policies; maintain a safe and clean workplace and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of San Diego to be considered; no relocation benefit provide.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's Degree in electro-mechanical discipline or prior military experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical and instrumentation technology.

Skills:

POSITION CRITERIA:

• Ability to work overtime on short notice
• Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and additional technical materials.
• Strong interpersonal skills with heavy emphasis on good communication skills (Oral and written)
• Strong mathematical skills
• Computer skills surrounding Microsoft Office suite, Oracle and Planner
• Excellent problem solving skills with a strong sense of urgency
• Position requires high level of concentration and close attention to details
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs, unassisted and throughout the day as needed
• Continous standing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling
• Requirement to train and qualify for power industrial truck (forklift) license
