Senior Project Manager
What you'll do:
Responsible for leading and managing a complex Avionics Project. The Project involves the development and qualification of a new standard of Avionics equipment that will be fitted to future AAR (Air to Air Refuelling) Pods that are supplied to all major Aircraft manufacturers. Maintaining Schedule, cost and quality are essential along with motivating the cross functional team, engaging with senior internal stakeholders and being the key customer interface.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver project to agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
• Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the project team.
• Organise, coordinate and direct the project activities.
• Manage risks, issues and opportunities proactively
• Ensure effective and open communication throughout the project team and with stakeholders.
• Lead the project teams planning efforts and identify resource requirements based on agreed scope.
• Manage relationships with key customer personnel
• Manage and deliver the required product (s) for each project, phase or stage motivating the supply chain.
• Manage the tracking, updating and reporting progress and or variance on all aspects of the Project to include financials (EAC), project plans (IMS), work breakdown structures (WBS), project risk registers
• Adhere to all project governance requirements (internal phase reviews)
• Seek to minimise the effects of change 'scope creep', ensure changes are formally processed applying contract variations as needed.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years' experience working in cross-functional, integrated project teams
Skills:
• Experience in delivering a major project with a high level of complexity, including development and qualification testing, with proven track record
• Strong knowledge of the product life cycle
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience of PPM techniques
• Advanced leadership skills
• Goal orientation balancing task, team and individual needs to achieve the right outcomes
• Advanced interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, persuasion).
• Drive, enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to develop
• Methodical and organised
• Good facilitator/mediator able to resolve conflict.
• An ability to develop team members and increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
• Commercially and contractually aware.
• Demonstrable PPM competences
