Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Product Engineer. This position is based at our Houston Service Center facility. The primary function of the Senior Product Engineer is to provide applications engineering for product line support. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering designs, providing direction to application engineers and designers, and collaborating with direct customers/field sales.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
- Emphasis on working with electrical, electro-mechanical, programmable logic controllers, and solid-state controls in motor control applications and electrical distribution systems.
- Maintain familiarity with communications protocols, variable speed drives and solid-state starters in order to maintain design standards.
- Manage large projects to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision.
- Interpret customer one-line diagrams and specifications to determine order requirements and apply Eaton designs to meet customer's expectations.
- Perform standard engineering assignments often representing a significant portion of a larger project for Eaton. Coordinate with other Eaton product lines and business units as needed to ensure quality of products to end customer
- Set-up and programming of PLC, HMI/MMI applications and electronic relays.
- Generate electrical schematics and mechanical layouts based on information received from Sales and Marketing.
Qualifications:
Basic (required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering concentration from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of product, design, electrical, or sales engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (Co-ops and internships will count towards this requirement).
- Authorized to work in the US without Company Sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the posted working location to be considered. Active-Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSEE or BSME from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience and/or knowledge of electrical distribution equipment.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of N.E.C., IEEE, UL, and various local electric codes.
- Ability to interpret both customer specifications and electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Utilization of substantial motor control product knowledge for communication with field sales, customers, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
- Quality Systems / Corporate Programs: Ensure compliance where applicable with systems and programs, such as, but not limited to: ISO 9000-2000, ISO 14001, Underwriters Laboratory, NEMA, etc. Participate in and demonstrate understanding of other programs, such as: Eaton Business System (EBS), Management of Environmental Safety and Health (MESH), etc.
